Welcome To Hastings
Hastings, Nebraska is a friendly community of approximately 24,000 people.  This town, known historically as the "Queen City" is nestled into the south-central plains of the midwest.  Hastings is located only 15 minutes south of Interstate 80. The community is comprised of a diverse population and has an economy that is agriculturally and industrially driven.  Hastings has all the amenities of a large city, but yet is still proud to offer it's citizens the traditional values and ideals of smaller communities.  There is plenty of shopping available as well as lodging and entertainment.  The downtown area is a historical attraction as well as the Central-Hastings Historical District which is recognized by the National Registry of Historic Sites.

The city of Hastings is one that people easily call home.  The attractions include the Chataqua Pavillion, the Lied SuperScreen Theater, the Nebraska Softball Hall of Fame, the Aquaquart Water Park, Hastings Motor Speedway, the YMCA, Fisher Fountain and many more. 

Hastings has six elementary schools, a brand-new middleschool slated to open in 2008 as well as a class-B highschool.  Central Community College is located just a few miles east of Hastings on Highway 6.  Hastings College is a small-liberal arts college that is also located in Hastings.

There is always an activity to keep you and your family busy and involved with your neighbors.  Hastings celebrates being the home of Kool-Aid every year with a weekend long celebration.  Each year the art community joins together to offer up the Cottonwood Prairie Festival.  From the Celebration of Lights during the holidays to the dynamic firework display each year at Brickyard Park, you are sure to find your spot in Hastings.
